Kung Fu, Karate and Tae Kwon do make up much of what is Pik Lik Kung. However, such close quarter combat arts as Ju Jutsu, Sambo wrestling and Chi Na also have strong representation with the art.
This is a course in competitive Oriental Martial Arts with a heavy emphasis on conditioning and fighting strategy. Also, there is a definite air of formality as the respective student learns the discipline, focus and respect in keeping with traditions of Chinese Kickboxing (San shou/Sanda)
This ancient system of ermed combat originated in what is now called Muay Thai over 2000 years ago. Early records indicated that this method of combat was created by monks who trained a selected few to serve as body guards for the Royal Family. A Thai Fighter refers to the two feet, two fist, two elbows and two knees as the eight weapons, when combined together, these eight weapons are a dangerous combination. Any of the eight weapons, if executed correctly, can strike an opponent with lightning speed, precision and accuracy.
